Psychiatric Mental Health NP candidate with a background spanning military medicine, emergency nursing, community mental health, and VA consultation-liaison psychiatry. Bilingual clinician and Salvadoran Jewish community leader based in Los Angeles.
Holistically driven. Community rooted. Clinically rigorous.
I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice candidate at California State University, Long Beach, pursuing specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My clinical training spans emergency psychiatric nursing, community-based serious mental illness care, and VA consultation-liaison psychiatry — with a particular focus on serving veterans, unhoused individuals, Latinx communities, and LGBTQ+ adults.
Before nursing, I served as a Combat Medic and Clinical Manager in the U.S. Army — an experience that shaped a clinical disposition grounded in decisive judgment, calm under pressure, and deep commitment to those in my care. As a Salvadoran Jewish professional, I bring a distinctive lens to identity-affirming psychiatric practice and Jewish community mental health leadership.
Full clinical practicum and professional history available upon request.
This project implements a structured workflow for psychiatric patients presenting to the emergency department, examining whether systematic improvements reduce physical restraint use and improve the timeliness of psychotropic medication administration. Grounded in direct clinical experience across emergency nursing and PMHNP training at the VA and in community mental health settings.
